A world-class offshore fishery.
One of the world's best yellowfin destinations and a top black marlin grounds — with blue marlin, sailfish, dorado and wahoo all in reach.
The Gulf of Chiriquí is home to a world-class offshore fishery. In size and number, it's one of the world's best yellowfin tuna destinations — and one of the top black marlin fisheries in the Northern Hemisphere. We catch good numbers of blue marlin, sailfish, dorado and wahoo, too.
The fishing is this good in part because of the Gulf itself. Its sheer productivity — measured in bait and raw amount of life — supports an incredible diversity of opportunity. Hundreds of islands rise from the depths, and there's plenty of open water and an accessible edge where the continental shelf gives way to the deep, broad Pacific.
The clear open ocean is the home of the blue marlin. Underwater structure and high spots are the haunt of the black. The Gulf of Chiriquí has both, in spades — and the charm of fishing here is that every one of these habitats sits close enough to fish them all in the same trip.
