Panama City

Perhaps the nicest city in Central America — a cosmopolitan stopover of great food, nightlife and history on your way to the lodge.

Panama City is perhaps the nicest city in Central America. For nightlife, restaurants and things to do, few places compare. The skyline looks like Miami, the city is safe, and the country uses American dollars.

Panama is the product of an incredible diversity of cultural influences, and its cuisine is all the better for it — the city has some genuinely great restaurants. It all started with the Panama Canal; these days there is a thriving scene of international banking and commerce.

Many of our guests spend a night in Panama City on the way to the lodge or on the way home, and there is plenty to do. We can help arrange a tour of the Panama Canal, set you up for a day chasing peacock bass on Lake Gatún, or you can simply relax and take in the most cosmopolitan city in Central America.
